בְּרֵאשִׁית
BeReshit
In beginning, or In the Beginning
Genesis
BeReishit: Means “in beginning" or "in the beginning” from the original Hebrew language. BeReishit is also called Genesis by Christianity and most of the world. The word “Genesis” derives via Latin from the Greek word gignesthai, meaning "to be born," and can refer to the origin or beginning of anything from a heavenly body to an idea. This was the translation from the original Hebrew Tanakh language, which is the language of God, to Greek, then to Latin. Greek is one of the Roman Empire languages (along with Latin). Rome had many languages, like the United States does today, and was the power that destroyed the second Temple in 70 CE before they took in Christianity in 313 CE, which became the main religion in 323 CE for Rome.
